Mildly Inappropriate!

Well this post is not kid friendly at all.... I was asked to make a cake for a dear friends Bachelorette party. I was excited but mostly nervous since I usually don't make cakes and let people see them  (cupcakes, cake pops totally different).  I did however make cake pops just in case I totally screwed it up!!
My vision of this party was more classy and not trashy, but the Matron of Honor, did not see it that way. Who am I to judge, I wore a penis garland around my leg and a "beautiful" penis headband at my own bachelorette, now that is some classy accessories right??
They wanted something shocking, dirty and well....down right raunchy! And that is exactly what I gave them. I wont post pictures of the nasty cake on my main page just in case kids are in the room, or maybe even a judgmental Mother-in-law. ;) Click on the link below to see pics.

Lalaloopsy Party

Another birthday, another year. My big girl "A" is 5.  March madness has a new meaning for us we have 4 birthdays this month. My dear sister in-laws in the beginning, A's on the 20th and then a good friend of ours girl in 30 and my mother in-laws on the 31st. Yikes, my head is spinning...luckily as we get older we only really have to worry about the kids birthdays. :)
This was A's first birthday party with just friends and we had family come over after for dinner. It was absolutely insane!! we had 13 kids 5 and under, why? you ask....I have no idea. "A" is kind of a social butterfly which she takes after her dad whole heartily. :)
So after looking and researching what to do with that many kids in March which its still pretty cold out, we came across this thing called The Adventure Bus. After watching a few You-Tube videos I was convinced this was the thing for us!! And I was right it was, the bus was amazing and I recommend it to all my friends who have kids birthdays in winter or really anytime. So what is The Adventure Bus?? Well it is basically a full size school bus hollowed out and has gymnastics equipment inside and the best part is they come to you. If you have enough room either in front of your house (which we do) or close by then they park out front and the kids get to participate in gymnastic activities , such as balance beams, rings, a little zip line and my Girlie's fave the rock wall. It is all guided and the instructor has a few helpers so the parents don't need to be on the bus (yippee). The house is quiet and when the kids come back inside after being on the bus for 1 hour they are tired, hungry, thirsty and then before you know it they are all gone! :) hahaha.
Here are a some pictures of A's Lalaloopsy Themed party....enjoy!!

My little pony

D is 3!!!! My baby girl is a preschooler. I just can't believe it. She has just started school at the beginning of September. Well the first few classes didn't go very smoothly but by the 3-4 day she would give me a quick hug and run off with the other kids. :'(

  1. Now on to the cupcakes!!! So I was in a hurry and I'm kind of disappointed on how they turned out and I apologize on the quality of picture. I just basically piped squiggles all over the cupcake like a ribbon and plopped my little pony figurines on the cupcakes. I just used a basic vanilla cake mix and a chocolate cake mix ( I know! I know!), and made a stiff cream cheese icing.  It is the same icing as I used on my Easter cupcakes, I usually vary the amount of icing sugar I put in.

A turns 4!

So A's birthday theme this year was Tangled! We took them both to the theatre to watch this movie and they loved it!!! This was A's 2nd time and D's first time, they did great. It just happened to be  released out on DVD just in time for her birthday in March. I spent hours and hours trying to plan this great cake and was going to attempt to build a tower. I was in the process of stacking the cakes and doing a crumb coat on it when it collapsed and I could not repair it. Oh well... Stuff happens!! Anyways I found these beautiful cupcake cups at Micheals and made a mint green buttercream icing and they turned out wonderful. :)
Here is a closer look.  A few pearl sprinkles really brings out the elegance in these made for a princess cupcakes.

Halloween 2010

So I know this has nothing to do with baking or decorating cupcakes but I wanted to share my beautiful family.
My Girlies love the idea of carving pumpkins but they don't like getting their hands dirty! But hey! I'm okay with that.
"A" as Alice in wonderland
"D" as a kitty cat.
Love my beauties!! :)

Little D's 2nd Birthday.

When Little D turned 2, I decided to make the cupcakes for the party. And from that moment on I have decided to make all their cakes and cupcakes.
Little D's birthday theme was Minnie Mouse. I purchased a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter and used a small heart shaped cutter for the bows. Made 12 vanilla and 12 chocolate and topped them off with whipped cream icing.
